Applications for the Young Investigators Award are Now Open!

We are thrilled to announce that the Young Investigators Award application is NOW OPEN for the 38th World Congress of Sports Medicine (FIMS Dubai 2024) that will take place on October 24 – 27, 2024 as a Physical Congress in Dubai, United Arab Emirates!

The FIMS DUBAI 2024 Committee gives you the opportunity to showcase your work to a wide audience to highlight advances, enhance knowledge, share and discuss topics in this emerging and evolving field of Sports Medicine. We encourage you to submit your applications on or before August 20, 2024.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR YIA APPLICATION ON THE PORTAL

Login to your account with your username and password.
Select "Submissions" from the top menu, then click on "Create New Submission" tab.
Select the Young Investigators Award Category your would like to apply for and fill in all the mandatory details.
If you have forgotten your password and you can login, click "Forgot Password" and then you will be requested to enter your email address to receive a password reset email. Follow the instructions in the email.
You will be informed by email about the status of your YIA application.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT ON THE PORTAL

  • Click "Create an Account" to create your profile. Please fill in all the mandatory fields.
  • After creating your profile, you will be taken to the Dashboard section.
  • Choose Submissions from the top menu, then choose Create New Submission.
  • Select the type of your submission(Oral/Poster) and fill in all the mandatory details.
  • If you have forgotten your password and you can login, click "Forgot Password" and then you will be requested to enter your email address to receive a password reset email. Follow the instructions in the email.
  • You will be informed by email about the status of your submission.

 

ABSTRACT STEPS & GUIDELINES

All abstracts must be submitted in English using the online submission form on the FIMS Dubai Abstract Portal website.

NOTE: Abstracts submitted by email, fax or post will NOT be accepted. The Congress organizers will not accept responsibility for any abstracts that have not been properly submitted according to the instructions.

STEP 1: Submit your Abstract on the Portal

Action Research

The title must be brief, concise, and in CAPITAL LETTERS
The outline must have an Introduction, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
The abstract must not be more than 300 words and must be based on the original work.
Brief introduction about the topic.
A statement defining the purpose of the work to be presented at FIMS Dubai 2024.
Description of the action research method or ways of overcoming a challenge in the case study.
Five or six keywords relating to the topic should be supplied along with the abstract.
The extended deadline for Abstract Submission is June 30, 2024, no abstracts will be accepted after the deadline.
For any withdrawals, the presenter should notify the organizer in writing at least 20 days prior to the event.
The final presentation must cover the same material as the abstract.
Corresponding authors must provide the organizers with their full mailing address, office hours phone number, fax number and email address. Author and co-author information must be provided including the first and last names of all authors, their department, institution / hospital, city, state if applicable and country.

 

STEP 2: Abstract Evaluation

FIMS Dubai 2024 Scientific Committee will evaluate the content of each abstract and make the final selection. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine whether a submission is accepted as an Oral or a Poster presentation and its decision is final.

The Congress organizers will promptly notify the submitter of the outcome of their submitted abstract through a confirmation email.

STEP 3: Register for the Congress and prepare your presentation for final submission

Registration:

It is mandatory to register for the FIMS Dubai 2024 Congress following the approval of your abstract. No accepted abstracts will be displayed and featured without pre-registering for the Congress.
Deadline for Registration of Abstract Presenters is on or before August 18, 2024.
Registration once confirmed is non-refundable.

 

Guidelines for Submitting Your Final Poster Presentation

The abstract submitted of 300 words summarises the components of the poster below.
A poster is a visual presentation comprising whatever the contributor wishes to display on the poster board. A display uses text, graphs, tables, charts, and pictures to present the highlights of a subject.
As always in a scientific presentation, the poster should include:
    • Statement of the problem
    • Significance of the problem
    • Description of the research method
    • Presentation of results or expected results
    • Summary of the work and conclusions
Posters should be designed to: Catch the viewer's attention, quickly acquaint the viewer with the basics of your subject, and make the viewer want to learn more.
An E-poster is a digital version of a poster presentation. The poster may include text, figures, charts, tables, images, and artwork but does not include any audio, video, web links, or animation.
The poster file format / extension should be in .JPG and .PDF. Both formats should be submitted.
As a poster presenter, you are asked to prepare a single Image file(.JPG). Poster will be displayed at FIMS Dubai 2024 Poster Area, on a widescreen monitor.
The Poster file should be submitted with dimensions: 1080px(width) and 1920px(height), PORTRAIT layout.
Font size: The font size should be 20pt OR bigger.
Images and tables:
    • You are welcome to use images and tables in your presentation.
    • Avoid overlapping, animated objects or serial animations.
    • All graphs and tables must be embedded in your file and have titles.
    • Avoid animated GIF files and be mindful of copyrights and personal anonymity with your images or photos.
    • Do not insert or embed any videos in your presentation.
    • Use squares, rectangles, circles, etc., to group similar ideas. Avoid cluttering your poster with too much text. Label different elements as I, II, III or 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C, making it easier for the viewers to follow your display.
Restrictions:
    • Do not include hyperlinks as there will be no internet access on the E-poster screens.
Please submit your final E-poster file to the organizers by August 18, 2024.

 

Printed Poster Guidelines

Upon submission of the final e-poster file to our Congress Secretariat, Poster Presenters are requested to prepare their printed poster according to the guidelines below:

Information should be summarized using brief written statements, graphic materials, such as photographs, charts, graphs, and diagrams mounted on standard size poster (84 cm x 110 cm). Kindly be ready with your Pins or other mounting materials.
Poster orientation must be PORTRAIT. Clear labels must be used for each section of the poster. The text should be of sufficient size for easy reading at a distance of 1.5 meter (between 16-20 font sizes)
Title must be displayed clearly at the top of the poster and should include the names of the author(s) and the institution(s) of origin.

Guidelines for Submitting Your Final Oral Presentation

Include a clear outline of your presentation, highlighting the main points you intend to cover. This will help reviewers understand the structure and flow of your presentation.
In a scientific presentation, the presentation should include:
    • Statement of the problem
    • Significance of the problem
    • Description of the research method
    • Presentation of results or expected results
    • Summary of the work and conclusions
Upon receipt of the acceptance email, the organizer will provide you with the official FIMS powerpoint(PPT) template for your presentation.
Each presentation slot will be 8 minutes long, including 6 minutes for the presentation and 2 minutes for Q&A. Ensure your presentation adheres to the allocated time limit by limiting the number of slides accordingly.
The Main Presenter is required to submit a Biography, not exceeding 200 words, and profile photo in white background. This will be used for introduction purposes.
Please submit your final PPT file to the organizers by August 18, 2024.
More details and instructions regarding the location and presentation timing will be communicated by the Organizers as the congress dates approach.
